In this week-long, joint training, we will pair two trainings that Housing Action Illinois developed for housing counselors in response to hearing the need for more guidance and resources. During the first three days, we will focus on the essentials of rental housing counseling to develop the skills you need to create your own rental counseling program or deepen your knowledge to streamline your current program. We will cover every step of the rental process, from finding an apartment and building good landlord-tenant relations to addressing issues and ending a lease. We will share extensive collection of resources and more than a dozen templates for housing counselors to use as they aid clients.
